The Institute for Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
In the ICAPP Training for 2020 Units 1 to 8 will be offered. Other units between units 9 to 16 will be offered to students who have already completed the first 8 units.
This training is based on a portfolio system of undertaking various units to fulfil the different levels of training you wish to complete.
These guides are an introduction to areas of interest concerning child and adolescent psychotherapy. While undertaking a reading programme within the context of a training programme is recommended, these guides can assist those who are not in a position to do this, but wish to expose themselves to relevant literature on particular topics.
In 2020 ICAPP will introduce a number of new activities with the aim of stimulating people to become more familiar with the area of child and adolescent psychotherapy. It will also establish a site to promote a dialogue between child therapists, students and other professionals interested in this area.
The courses are available to graduates and experienced professionals from a variety of health and education disciplines who are interested in the application of psychodynamic thinking to a range of fields of human endeavour and intervention. Applicants require a 4-year degree in a relevant discipline from an approved tertiary institution. People interested in training are required to fill out an application form and have an interview ( in person, or by phone or online) to determine the appropriateness of the application.
